The MCF Advantage

Service first, last, and always.

We measure success by how well we show up in every financial decision and every life moment, from initial strategy through disciplined execution and ongoing guidance. As fiduciaries, each recommendation is guided by your best interests.

A service-first culture

By your side in every financial decision and life moment, planned and unplanned.

An integrated platform

In-house tax, accounting, planning and estate resources, all under one roof.

A coordinated team

One advisor. One strategy. Every element of your financial life working together.

MCF's Triangle of Success: outstanding client experiences at the point, resting on engaged team members and financial growth.
The point of the triangle relies on the other two pieces. We are only successful when we achieve all three.

Our motto

Preparation, not prediction.

Nobody can tell you what markets, tax law or life will do next. What we can do is prepare: disciplined planning, broad diversification, and maintaining a long-term focus, so that when something changes, the plan already has a place for it.

The triangle is how we get there. Client experience sits at the point, and it only holds when the team and the firm underneath it are sound.

How we work together

Led by your advisor. Delivered by one team.

Your advisor is the one call: the person who knows your family and the whole balance sheet. Behind them: planners, CPAs, investment analysts, insurance specialists and estate counsel. No handoffs. One strategy.

Your personal CFO

Comprehensive wealth planning, led by your Lead Advisor.

Our wealth management engagements are designed for households with $2,000,000+ in investable assets.

Advisory fees are based on assets managed, explained plainly in the first conversation, and stated in your agreement. MCF does not receive commissions for its investment advice.

Talk With an Advisor

Thirty minutes with an advisor. No cost, no obligation.

Life doesn’t happen in a straight line for many families, so why wouldn’t you want an experienced, caring, trustworthy, knowledgeable team working for you?
Why the team is built this way

Personal CFO services

The financial back office, run for your household.

A company has a finance function: someone who knows where the money is, where it is going, and what the statements say. For the families we serve, that is the Lead Advisor and the team behind them. The reporting, bookkeeping and preparation that a complex household generates can be handled here, so the picture your advisor plans from is complete and current.

Scope is agreed in writing at the start, and in the first conversation we’ll map which of these your situation calls for.

Personal CFO Services

  • Cash flow analysis
  • Balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements delivered regularly
  • Bill payment services
  • General bookkeeping
  • Tax preparation & analysis
  • Consolidated reporting across your financial life

Complex planning, one picture

The pieces that rarely fit a template.

Executive pay, company stock, deferred compensation and education funding each carry their own timing and tax decisions. Your Personal CFO team models them inside the whole plan, so one decision accounts for every other.

Executive benefit modeling

  • Benefit elections modeled against the whole plan, not in isolation
  • Nonqualified plan distributions timed to your tax picture
  • Pension, severance and change-in-control provisions read before they matter

Executive compensation

  • Salary, bonus and incentive pay planned as one income picture
  • Withholding and estimated payments tuned to the year’s projection
  • Vesting schedules mapped to the years they land in

Company equity and deferred compensation

  • Options, RSUs and purchase-plan shares: exercise and sale timing on numbers
  • Concentration reduced on a schedule, coordinated with the portfolio
  • Deferred compensation elections modeled across your retirement years

Education savings

  • 529 plans and alternatives, sized to the goal and the timeline
  • Funding coordinated with family gifting and the estate plan
  • Account ownership and financial-aid effects considered up front

Questions

What families ask before they start

What does comprehensive wealth management include?

Financial planning, investment management, forward tax planning, insurance and risk review, and estate coordination, delivered together by one team, led by your advisor. Services are tailored to each client's circumstances and engagement. Not all services described are provided to every client.

Can you work with my existing CPA or estate attorney?

We can, and often do: your advisor will coordinate directly with the professionals you already trust. For qualifying relationships, much of that work also happens in-house, with tax preparation by MCF's CPAs and estate document work through estate planning counsel. Services are tailored to each client's circumstances and engagement. Not all services described are provided to every client.

Do you have a minimum?

Our wealth management engagements are designed for households with $2,000,000+ in investable assets. Relationships are matched in the first conversation: tell us where you are and what you're trying to accomplish, and we'll be straight about whether MCF is the right fit.

How often will we meet?

On a cadence set with you, not by a calendar. Some families meet quarterly, some annually; between conversations the work is continuous, and when life changes you make one call. Net worth, risk, estate and tax each come back around on the planning loop.

Is MCF a fiduciary?

Yes. MCF Advisors is an independent, SEC-registered investment adviser. As fiduciaries, each recommendation is guided by your best interests.
